Community Uses
As Burstall now has neither a pub nor a shop, the hall is the centre of village life and provides a venue for a variety of activities for the community
- a flourishing Carpet Bowls Club
- the WI
- a monthly cheese and soup lunch
- the Bluebells craft group
- a monthly cake and chat afternoon
- social entertainment such as quiz nights and concerts
- various events such as craft fairs, big breakfast, and coffee mornings to raise funds for charitable causes
- choral singing and fitness classes are offered by groups who hire the hall
The hall's most important role of the year is however, as the backdrop to Burstall's remarkable Annual Flower Show and Fete which began in 1954. On the first Saturday every August, the hall and its meadow will bustle with activities such as:
- a marquee will be filled with flowers, vegetable, baking and craft exhibits
- traditional stalls and fun events for all the family
- fun dog show
- classic car show
- a live music band
But for many the highlight of the day is to be found tucked away in the village hall - delicious homemade afternoon teas.
Heating system
The hall has a modern air-source heating system which is thermostatically controlled and normally should not need to be adjusted at all. In case of need follow the instructions on this link
